Singer-actress Beyonce Knowles has been threatened with a 666,600 pound ($1 million) lawsuit after pulling out of a New York nightclub show.

The "Crazy In Love" hitmaker was set to perform at the Big Apple's M2 Saturday after the establishment's owner Joey Morrissey agreed to pay her 133,300 pounds for the performance.

However, the pop star suddenly axed the appearance Wednesday, with her representatives claiming she was too busy preparing for her North American tour, reported femalefirst.co.uk.

"They said she was too busy with the launching of the tour and that she wouldn't have time to do the kickoff party," said Morrissey.

"We sold tables for thousands of dollars for the show and spent a huge sum on renting a soundboard and other equipment as per their stipulations," he added.

Morrissey is now threatening to file a lawsuit against Beyonce over the cancellation, claiming the club has suffered a loss of reputation in addition to his lost cash.
