Kambakkht Ishq Grosses 100 crores Worldwide In Opening Week

Eros International has announced a record opening of Sajid Nadiadwala’s KAMBAKKHT ISHQ. The film has grossed Rs. 100 crores worldwide in its first week, making it one of the most successful openings in India cinema.d Kareena starrer “Kambakkht Ishq” has grossed Rs. 70 crores in India (Rs. 42 crores nett) and Rs. 21 crores overseas with music 7 digital platforms grossing Rs. 10 crores.

The film has been produced at a cost of Rs. 62 crores, including print and advertisement cost.

Kambakkht Ishq' Grosses over Rs 46 cr Worldwide: Eros

Sajid Nadiadwala's 'Kambakkht Ishq' has registered a stupendous opening grossing over Rs 46 crore at the box office in its opening weekend, Eros International, the film's co-producer and distributor has said.

The film, directed by debutante Sabbir Khan, with Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles has grossed over Rs 32 crore in India and Rs 14 crore overseas.

The film, released worldwide on July 3, also touched the number eight position in the UK following its release.

Speaking on the films performance, Nandu Ahuja, Executive Vice President, Distribution India, Eros International said, "Despite heavy rains, the film remained steady through the weekend all over and continues to show fabulous response today on day four as well. We are confident of the films performance in the weeks to come."

"In UK, the film secured a strong number eight position earning 3,00,000 pounds despite releasing along with big Hollywood films such as 'Ice Age 3' and 'Public Enemies'," Pranab Kapadia, President Distribution -- Europe and Africa, Eros International said.

Kambakkht Ishq Breaks Box Office Records in its opening weekend


Well it seems that Bollywood has struck gold again. This is Bollywood’s second smash hit opening weekend in a row. ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ has officially broken opening day records, even beating out that of SRK’s ‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.’

Bollywood officials have reported that there was 100 percent occupancy at almost all the multiplexes across the country, making ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ the second highest grossing film for first day collections ever. The film also had a very successful run into the end of the weekend, earning R.S 19 crore worldwide on its opening day only.

Sources from PVR reported, “We are having jammed packed shows for ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ and the weekend was house full.”

We will have to see how the film holds up during the week. If predictions are correct and ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ can hold its staying power at the box office, then we will have the next super hit on our hands.

Jogindar Mahajan told IANS, “Both ‘Kambakkht Ishq’ and ‘New York’ have full chances for business until the next big budget movie releases hit theaters.

Kambakkht Ishq First Exclusive Screening

The first screening of the much awaited biggie “Kambakkht Ishq” was held last night (30 June) at Adlabs, Film City. It was an exclusive screening, with the cast and crew of the movie watching it for the first time.

Present on the occasion were Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan (who arrived with his kids), Babita Kapoor, Dinesh Vijan (Saif’s producer-n- partner in Love Aaj Kal), Viki Rajani of Eros and those associated with the movie. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala and his wife Wardha played perfect hosts.

Meanwhile, lead man Akshay Kumar flew from London last night and is expected to watch the film tonight.

Akshay Kumar is Good kisser: Denise Richards

Former Bond girl Denise Richards has done some passionate scenes with Bollywood star Akshay Kumar in "Kambakkht Ishq" and says he is a good kisser.
Richards insists that no man in Bollywood can match his skills, reported contactmusic.com.
"Akshay was so down to earth and very genuine. He made me feel very comfortable, plus he's a good kisser! I can see why he's India's sexiest actor," said Richards
She admits she struggled with the language barrier while filming her first Bollywood movie, but got a helping hand from her co-stars and hopes to do another Bollywood film.
Releasing July 3, the film also stars Hollywood actors Sylvester Stallone and Brandon Routh.
