Bollywood star Salman Khan has slammed the hype over the reported similarities between his Veer co-star Zarine and actress Katrina Kaif. Salman said that if there was any similarities between the two stars he would have been the first notice it. Salman said that God has never made two people look alike and he didn't seen any resemblance between Katrina and Zarine except for the the fair skin and sharp nose.
Salman added that he and director Anil Sharma decided to cast Zarine because they wanted a yesteryear look and hence the need for a fresh face for it. Salman said that the presence of an established actress would have looked like as if the actress was playing the role. Salman who had met Zarine on the sets of Yuvvraaj felt she would be ideal for the role.
Salman added that he didn't feel the pressure of the huge box office success of Aamir Khan starrer 3 Idiots as he never believed in the number race and no parallel could be drawn between 3 Idiots and a period film like Veer. Salman concluded by saying that if his movie was good it would connect well with the audience.

You must be thinking how come Zarine Khan is looking so plumpy? Ya Zarine Khan was instructed to pile on weight for Veer. Zarine was put on a chocolate diet for months to give her a more full bodied look to appear a woman of yesteryear.
When Zarine first appeared, everybody thought she is the next Katrina look alike. Before shoot she had a sultry figure who had 54 kilos.
Zarine had lot of chocolates and pastries to look more curvaceous.
And you know who personally took care of Zarine's diet?
Ya it was Salman Khan.

Salman Khan by the side of unwell Katrina
The rumours of Katrina Kaif calling off her association with her long time boyfriend Salman Khan seems to be now a creation of thoughts of some idle brains, as they were like indivisible souls at a time when they need each other. Salman has been with Katrina all the time, as she is not in good health. It is said that Katrina was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital after irritable of abdominal hurt.
She is said to have gone through operation after being diagnosed with appendix.Sources said that Salman was in the hospital along with his mother Salma and sisters when the operation was done. Salman even posed for photographs with the hospital staffs after much persistence. It shows that the Khan family considers Katrina as its family unit. It may be recalled that Katrina has been in bad health for quite sometime now.
She was recently diagnosed with jaundice and low haemoglobin count. She braved it and performed at a show in Dubai and even attended a marriage of Salman’s family friend. Hard work seems to have taken a toll on her health. Well, Katrina should slow down her pace and take care of her health after getting well. After all, money, name and fame should come next to health.

When some destitute villagers come to the sets of Veer, wanting to talk to Salman Khan, he wondered what it was all about? These villagers apparently, were unemployed and desperately in need of help. But Salman, who is known to be a kind man, refrained from giving them any money. Instead, he asked them if they would like to work as junior artists on the sets.
They would have to don soldier uniforms and act in the film. Both of them got Rs 1000 for a day’s work as per the rates of the Junior Artists Association.Salman also gave away saris, shoes, and clothes for the families of these villagers. Bless his soul!
A little birdie tells us that while contacted for his reactions, he told reporters that he feels complete whenever he helps others in need. Now that’s what we can a true gentleman.

Earlier, the buzz of creative difference between director Anil Sharma and Salman Khan was doing rounds, and now, location woes. The unit of Veer witnessed some tough time in London while shooting. Apparently, the nightmare for Veer’s team started when they decided the location of sunflower field for a shoot, but when the cast along with the crew reached the location hoping to see a field full of sunny sunflowers, they were astounded to see nothing but a barren landscape.
The locals blamed a sudden change in the climate, which resulted in the disappearance of sunflower field, as all the plants had suddenly dried up. The shoot was scrapped but the director was adamant on having the same location for Veer.And believe it or not, in three days flat, the sunflowers were back to their sunny state!
Although, no one could have imagined that the sunflower field would be the same in three days, Bollywood is used to such unexpected surprises.

Salman Khan to play superhero in Mr. India 2
Salman Khan is all geared up to play a superhero for the first time in his life in the movie Veer. But, this may not be the last time as Salman could soon be seen playing a superhero in a sequel to Mr. India. Boney Kapoor who produced the 1987 super hit flick wants Salman to play larger than life character in his upcoming sequel.
Anil Kapoor who was the original Mr. India will also play a pivotal role in the movie.Boney Kapoor said that Mr India 2 will rely on the nostalgic value and the curiosity element of the original flick. The invisibility factor and a larger than life villain which were core to the 1987 movie will be retained this time too.
Boney is yet to decide on the female lead for the movie. Incidentally his wife Sridevi had starred in the original flick. All we can say is that ‘India Khush Hua!’

I was shocked when a little birdie told me that around 1000 horses and 100 elephants were used in the action sequences in Salman Khan’s much awaited production Veer. GAWD! I did not even know so many elephants were available in India.So, however, apparently action director Tinu Verma has worked extra hard to get the sequences in place. He apparently trained Salman in the art of sword fighting and horse riding to properly represent the warriors of Pindhari clan.
Next time Kat should try to keep all the forks and spoons away from Sallu darling at her birthday party. Tee hee hee!And that’s not all guys. Tinu Verma who has films like Gadar and Border to his name swears that Veer has been his most challenging project till date. WOW! He won’t look fashionable as he always does. It’s no where close to Wanted or even Garv.

When we discussed the idea of blogging on his experience shooting for the film, it was Salman himself who suggested that we launch the blog on his dad’s birthday. In fact, Salimsaab is one of the few people to have seen the rushes of Veer and loved it.
Since it has a father-son relationship, Salman felt it apt to launch his blog on his dad’s birthday. The blog will be about how Salman thought about Veer, how it started, the hurdles faced, etc.” Galani adds that Salman had written the story of Veer quite a while back. “I had approached him for another project. He gave me a one-line narration of Veer about a love story with the father-son relationship angle against a war backdrop. I asked him for time to think about it. It’s a very expensive film, requiring a lot of research and 150 days of shooting; it being a period film. All that stuff is there in the blog in Salman’s own words. The blog will be written by him. We are trying to get him to blog everyday but if that’s not possible, he will update it twice a week.”Salim Khan says, “I didn’t know that Salman was launching his blog on my birthday. I have seen the rushes of Veer and have loved it.
The film has been made on a huge canvas. Of course there’s still scope for improving the film. I like the way Salman has handled the father-son relationship. Salman Khan needs a pat on his back and why is that? Well, if it wasn’t his presence of mind, Bunny Anand, a small-time actor (currently shooting for ‘Veer’), would’ve lost his life during the shoot. According to reports, while shooting for a train robbery sequence for ‘Veer’ in Rajasthan, actors Bunny Anand and Vicky Mehra were riding their respective horses and Salman was supposed to balance himself keeping one leg each on the two horses, and a train was fast approaching to their left.
Director Anil Sharma said ‘action’ and everything was proceeding smoothly until Bunny accidentally lost his balance and was about to fall off the horse he was riding, but the brave Salman came to his rescue.Salman immediately realised that Bunny would seriously hurt himself. He grabbed Bunny by his collar and pulled him up.
If Salman had acted even a fraction of a second late, Bunny would have not only fallen off his horse but also would have been crushed to death by the horses that were running at breakneck speed behind them,” says a source.When enquired about the same, Bunny confirmed the news and said, “Salman bhai saved my life. I don’t know how to repay him.”

Can you believe this?? Salman Khan, the macho man of bollywood who could not tolerate even Shah Rukh Khan’s jokes at Katrina Kaif’s birthday bash and fought with him, tolerated a tight slap from a sozzled girl, Monika, in Delhi.
Sources present on the occasion say that Salman Khan was just trying to control the situation at his party in Delhi when this girl, who was in an inebriated condition, slapped him in full view of a large number of dignitaries, leaving Sallu and others stunned for a moment. This all happened in the presence Sohail Khan, Sushmita Sen, Raima Sen, Ria Sen, Amaan Ali, Ayaan Ali, Shibani Kashyap, Vijender Singh and other dignitaries from Delhi social circle present on the occasion.
To everyone surprise, Salman Khan maintained his cool even after being hit by the girl and asked the security guards to take away the girl from the party.
Before slapping Salman Khan, the same girl had also abused bollywood diva Sushmita Sen at the party. Sushmita Sen was present there with her brother Rajeev Sen. Even Salman Khan’s brother Sohail Khan, who tried to intervene in the matter, got the taste of her abuses, which came in plenty.
The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that Salman Khan had hosted a private party after the conclusion of Sanjana Jon’s fashion show, which was going on at a five star hotel. The party was being attended by bigwigs from fashion, political, social life of Delhi.
This girl Monika, who is said to be the daughter of a rich builder in Delhi, came at the venue of party with a male friend and started trying to get inside. But the security guards prevented her from entering the venue and she started creating a scene at the gate.
It was at that time that Sohail Khan came to enquire about the ongoing noise and asked the guards to keep her away from the party. Monika, who was already in a sozzled state, got furious and abused him.
Hearing the commotion, Salman Khan also came at the venue and politely asked the girl to leave. However, she had other ideas and hit the macho Khan in full public view. Everybody was stunned but Salman maintained his cool and returned to the party after ensuring that the girl had been taken away by the security guards.
It may be recalled that Salman Khan is infamous for his hot temper and never tolerates such kind of behavior from anybody. Till date, he has not forgiven or forgotten Vivek Oberoi, who had challenged him (in the matter of Aishwarya) through a press conference. Similarly, Shah Rukh Khan has not been forgotten by Salman for his unkind remarks about Aishwarya at Katrina’s birthday bash.
Asin leaves sour taste in Salman’s mouth
While Asin claims to be having a cordial relationship with Salman Khan, the media is abuzz with the news of their friendship turning sour. During the shooting of London Dreams, the chemistry that the on-screen couple shared had become the talk of the town.But recently Salman has been spotted ignoring the actress, so much so, that the eternal bad-boy of Bollywood even refused to acknowledge her presence at a press conference held for the promotion of their flick. Avoiding the actress, Salman walked away from the interview leaving Asin all alone to face the media.
The reason for Salman ignoring Asin, both pictured, is because their friendship was under the constant scrutiny of the media, leading to rumours of a link-up, which was affecting his relationship with Katrina Kaif.According to a source: “Asin reached the studio at 1pm as scheduled. Salman was unwell as the previous day he had been to Kolkata where he contracted an allergy. His face was swollen and he had a runny nose. Hence, he was not very comfortable doing the interviews and requested the media guys to reschedule it, but continued to chat with them.”Asin was aware that the joint interviews would not happen, but she refused to move.
It was evident that she wanted to meet Salman. She came over from Studio number five to studio number six to sit beside Salman. “To everyone’s surprise, Salman did not even greet her. In fact, he completely ignored her. She sat there for some time but he simply refused to speak to her. Then he got up and left. Asin had no option but to leave after that. She was left wondering what went wrong between the two ‘friends’.” The news has been denied by Asin who said they were travelling together and attending the premiere in the same limo.
