Those who had been waiting to see the mother-daughter duo on the big screen for a long long time will be happy to see Soha and Sharmila Tagore finally featuring in debutante director Sangeeta Dutta'a film Life Goes On.
The film will be screened at the 11th Mumbai Film Festival, starting from Oct 29 to Nov 5.
Set in London, the film revolves around Sanjay (Girish Karnad), his deceased wife (Sharmila Tagore) and three daughters. His shattered life goes through more turmoil when Dia (played by Soha Ali Khan) the youngest daughter falls in love with a Muslim man.
Life Goes On has the shadow of Shakespeare's King Lear in contemporary style. It works functionally as a sub-text in the film as we see Sanjay and Dia within the contours of the mythical Lear and Cordelia.
