John, Katrina voted Most eligible single celebrities

Bollywood actors John Abraham and Katrina Kaif have been voted as the most eligible single celebrities in an online poll.

The poll conducted by matrimonial website shaadi.com saw responses from over 18,000 netizens, a statement from the company said Friday.

Nearly 48 percent of males voted for Katrina as the most eligible single female and 43 percent females named John as their favoured eligible bachelor.

While the 'Dostana' actor polled more votes than Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Ranbir Kapoor, Rahul Gandhi, M.S. Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh, Katrina scored over divas like Bipasha Basu, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Sonam Kapoor.

'It's nice to see the way our members' preferences for an ideal partner have changed drastically. Its not just about looks and fashion trends but about power and higher social standing that makes a person more attractive and appealing,' Gourav Rakshit, business head of shaadi.com, said.

Katrina cracks a Joke on John!

While John Abraham has been limping with a fractured foot during the promotional campaign of New York , his co-star Katrina Kaif is not missing a chance to pull his leg, not literally though.

After promoting the film in Delhi earlier this week and making a hush-hush trip to Ajmer to pray for the film’s success, Katrina was in Bangalore on Wednesday, along with the other stars of the film – John, Neil Nitin Mukesh and director Kabir Khan .

John, who’s been hobbling around on a crutch ever since he injured his foot on the sets of Hook Ya Crook , became the butt of Katrina’s joke when he was asked the cause of his injury.Katrina replied on John’s behalf: “Well we had a fight, but since I am a little stronger this is what happened to his leg. If he picks a fight with me again, the same thing will happen to his other leg also.”

John took the joke sportingly and said the doctors have advised him not to put weight on his injured leg for two more weeks.

Speaking about the film, the actors said ‘New York’ is basically about the bonding between three friends while 9/11 forms the backdrop of their story.

‘New York’ releases on June 26. It is the first Yashraj Films release of the year.

Beauty behind veil: Katrina Kaif Prays for 'New York' success

Actress Katrina Kaif was almost unrecognizable when she visited the Ajmer Sharif dargah (shrine) to pray for the success of her film ‘New York’.

The first time Katrina visited the shrine way back in 2006 to shoot for director Vipul Shah’s film Namaste London , she inadvertently sparked a controversy because of her short skirt. She was appropriately attired when she made another visit to the holy dargah last year.

And now, on Tuesday, after promoting her upcoming film New York in New Delhi and its suburbs, Katrina headed to the holy shrine of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti to pray for the film’s success. The revered Sufi saint’s dargah in Ajmer, Rajasthan, is quite renowned for the fulfillment of devotees’ wishes.

Katrina was modestly dressed in a salwar kameez and had wrapped her face with a translucent black scarf that had beautiful lace-work done on its borders. The attire also kept her identity secret and prevented her from being mobbed at the shrine.

With only a day remaining for ‘New York’ to hit the screens, Katrina will now be busy again to promote the film in Mumbai.

Earlier, while promoting in Delhi, Katrina said her role in ‘New York’ is very close to her real self.

“I was told by the director that my character Maya is the real me that hasn’t been seen on the screen yet,” she said.

The film, starring John Abraham , Neil Nitin Mukesh and Irrfan Khan is set against the backdrop of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the US. It will release on June 26.

Katrina Kaif Visits Ajmer Sharif in Burkha

Today early morning Kartina Kaif was seen in Ajmer. Well the actress is there to seek the blessings of god for her upcoming film “New York” which is releasing this week on 26 June.

This time the sultry actress was seen wearing Burkha covering her face too. She was there with the few team members of her flick. Another reason as per the news channel which captured her image was to keep her identity in dark so that the junta is not attracted towards the star.

Some times before also Ms. Kaif landed up in trouble for her film, “Nameste London” when she first visited the dargah. The eyebrows were raised for her wearing skirt in that holy place which created lots of hungama.

So this time it seems the actress didn’t wanted to be in news for the wrong reasons. Thus she followed the holy norm so that the concern authority of the Ajmer Sharif.

Well girl now only time and junta will decide whether your dua is kabool or not. Hope it does.

When Katrina witnessed a Mad frenzy

Imagine bottles strewn all over the place and people jumping like mad all over the car as soon as you have stepped out of a restaurant? What would your immediate reaction be? You would of course think there might be some war or riot happening. Katrina thought the same too.

A unit member said, "We had just stepped out a restaurant when we witnessed this sight. Katrina got horrified seeing people going haywire all around dancing on cars and throwing bottles. She felt there was something seriously had gone wrong in Philadelphia."

Kat heaved a sigh of relief when she came to know that people were going mad because US had won the world cup. "The police let the people go mad. But it was something that neither the unit nor Katrina had seen before. But they we walked through the entire carnage," the source said.
