The world of showbiz may be full of catfights and raging egos but that does not stop actress Preity Zinta from complimenting Kajol on her “outstanding” performance in My Name Is Khan. With Bollywood’s golden couple Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol coming together after almost a decade, the film is one of the most awaited releases of 2010, but Preity has already given her verdict.”I saw some of the film’s (My Name Is Khan) footage and she is outstanding in it and so is Shahrukh and I think it will be great movie,” Preity, who was here in the capital as the brand ambassador of Vatika Enriched Almond Hair Oil, said.

Preity can even bet on the fact that no body could have done the role better than Kajol.”Look at Kajol. She goes and gets married, has a kid. She disappears for three years and she comes back does some thing like My Name Is Khan and she is so good in the film. I can bet that none of the actresses can stand in front of her,” Preity said. Karan Johar directed My Name is Khan is set to hit the theaters in Feb next year and stars Shah Rukh as RizvanKhan, an unconventional hero, who embarks on an incredible journey in order to win back the love of his life (Kajol).

And along the way, his unique brand of goodness and humanity touches the lives of many and inspires a nation.

Who says real friends do not exist in Bollywood? They do. At least actresses Kareena Kapoor and Kajol have been good friends these days.

Apparently, the two have bonded on the sets of Karan Johar's upcoming film which is a remake of Stepmom.

Kajol and Bebo are like best buddies on the sets and it is said that they are always chatting and giggling amongst themselves.

Seems like there is nothing step-motherly in their attitude towards each other!

Kareena Kapoor is leaving nothing to chance this time. Determined to match strides with the formidable scene-stealer Kajol in the Hindi version of Stepmom, the actress has been quietly attending acting workshops with the film’s director Siddharth Malhotra.”The last time I rehearsed for a part was for Vishal Bharadwaj’s Omkara. But that was a more unconventional film and role where I had to get into a milieu and character I knew nothing about. But Stepmom is urban and very contemporary.

I play a very normal metro-centric working girl,” said Kareena.Malhotra’s film is inspired by director Chris Columbus 1998 hit drama Stepmom, a heartwarming tale of two women – divorced Susan Sarandon and the new woman (Julia Roberts) in her ex-husband’s life – and the problems they face to find a common ground of understanding.And to attend the workshops, Kareena has been stealing time out of the rehearsals for a song she began shooting with Aamir Khan in 3 Idiots. Through the workshops Kareena is discovering how difficult it is to play a normal girl. “I walk, talk, dress like an ordinary working girl.

I’ll be using no makeup.”Bollywood’s ace designer Manish Malhotra too is having a hard time trying to bring down Kareena’s glamour quotient in Stepmom to look like an ordinary working woman. “I couldn’t cut my hair as planned because of continuity clashes. And I didn’t want to cut my long hair. But I’m going for a new hairstyle,” said Kareena.The two actresses start shooting together from the end of this month.Talking abour Kajol, Kareena said: “She’s always been one of my favourite actresses. We worked together in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. But this is something else.”

There will be a lot of dramatic scenes between the two women in the movie. “The desi version of Stepmom is very different from the original. My role is also a big departure from what Julia Roberts played in Stepmom,” Kareena said.

Fox Star Studio is planning to expand its library. After distributing “Slumdog Millionaire” in India, the international entity is, reportedly, keen on acquiring the global rights of Karan Johar’s much awaited biggie “My Name Is Khan“, which stars the unbeatable combo of Shahrukh and Kajol, yet again.Vijay Singh of Fox Star Studio - currently abroad - throws light on the topic, “Its not only My Name Is Khan, we are in talks with several people/production houses at the moment. Let me say, we are keen to build relationships with the best of Bollywood”.Please elaborate. Vijay states, “Well, we already have a 2 film deal with Vipul Shah (reportedly, Action Replay, directed by Vipul himself, and the Sanjay Khanduri-directed Sunny starrer have been acquired by them), but I would not like to reveal the names right now. We would make an official announcement once the time is ripe”.

He continues in the same breath, “We also have an alliance with Murugadoss (Ghajini) for making Tamil movies. Besides, we are also in talks with several notable names in the Hindi industry”.

With Fox Star Studio entering the fray, the scenario is only going to brighten up!
