Govinda’s comic timing with Esha Deol

It’s a multi starrer film featuring Suniel Shetty, Govinda, Celina Jaitely, Esha Deol and Urvashi Sharma. When we asked the director what’s the film about, he explained “Tea is an integral part of everyone’s life. Be it any occasion, when you are happy you have a cup of tea, when you are sad you have a cup of tea. Be it a business meeting or just a date with your loved one, a cup of tea is always an important part of our lives. So it’s a light film about how these various characters get connected with one another through chai.”Suniel and Govinda are already established actors in b-town.

Celina also has her films so has Urvashi whom we see in few films. But the most recognisable actress on the sets is Esha Deol whose career is really not doing well. We have last seen her in Hijack almost a year ago in 2008 with Shiney Ahuja and now with a time gap of two years she will be seen in Chai Garam. Working with Chi Chi and Suniel Shetty may make the film bankable but she needs as many such films in her kitty.About Esha’s choice of Chai Garam she said, “It’s a simple and light hearted comedy film, when Aditya narrated the script to me I liked it, and agreed to do.”So what does Chai mean to your life and how is your chai served we asked Esha. She said ,“If the morning tea is bad, my entire day goes bad.

Therefore, I am very careful about my tea. Lemongrass is an essential ingredient.”Where Esha’s career is dwindling we hope Chai Garam brings some good luck to Aditya Datt who has in the past made Aaqhiq Banaya Aapne Esha tells us, “I think Aditya is a brilliant director. He is very calm and knows how to get things from his stars. And that’s what you are going to watch in Chai Garam. I really like the concept and the film name Chai Garam.”The Chai Garam unit is back in India. One of the unit member from the crew informs “Esha Deol had a blast while shooting for Chai Garam. It’s very rare to see in Bollywood where two actresses bond so well with each other. Both Celina and Esha share a great rapport and have worked in the past in No Entry.

Even the boys are also funny specially Suniel Shetty who keeps clicking pictures on the sets, Chi Chi is also a very simple person and the whole unit is enjoying the shooting. This film could start a new pair in Esha and Govinda, their comic timing together is superb.”We hope that this film works for Esha Deol. It’s set to release in January 2010.

Salman, I have very deep bonding: Govinda

Bollywood is famous for the real and reel life bonding between actors. One such camaraderie that has surfaced between two known names in tinsel town is of Salman Khan and Govinda.”Salman and I have a very deep bonding so much so that we are just one call away from each other… We just completely respect and love each other like anything,Govinda told IANS.

In fact it was because of this bonding that I copied his bracelet (Salman famously dons a sapphire bracelet on his right arm). Feroza is so beautiful, healthy and keeps people so much at peace. I have no qualms in saying that I copied Salman Khan,he added. Seen together for the first time in hit comedy Partner, the duo set the screen on fire with impeccable comic timing.

Govinda recently walked the ramp at the HDIL India Couture Week for Salman’s Being Human foundation and has also appeared in the macho actor’s Main Aurr Mrs Khanna that released on Friday (Oct 16).

Govinda is a Womaniser in Life Partner'

Tusshar Kapoor is happy with Govinda's presence as co-star in the forthcoming Abbas-Mustan movie Life Partner and says the comic actor adds as much value to the comic caper as Salman Khan did in No Entry.

"Life Partner tells the story of two young men played by Fardeen Khan and me. And then there is Govinda who keeps coming in and going out of the scene, just as Salman did in No Entry," Tusshar told IANS.

"In No Entry, the story revolved around Anil Kapoor and Fardeen Khan, but no one could deny the importance of Salman in the film. Same is the case in Life Partner too where Govinda is an integral part of the plot," says Tusshar who is also working with Govinda in Run Bhola Run, a comedy.

Directed by Rumi Jaffery and produced by Abbas-Mustan, Life Partner is releasing Friday.

Talking about the three male protagonists in Life Partner, Tusshar said: "The best of the enterprise is the conflicting view that each of us has around marriage. Fardeen is quite flamboyant and believes in love marriage. He has a girl friend (Genelia D'Souza), is very westernised in appeal, just as he is in real life too and has a free side to him. We both play best friends in the film."

"While I play someone who believes in an arranged marriage and gets hooked up with Prachi Desai, Govinda doesn't believe in marriage at all. In fact he plays a womaniser. As a divorce lawyer, he keeps advising Fardeen and me against the so-called evils of marriage. He loves putting a spoke in the wheel even though at heart he is still full of 'masti'. Whenever he comes on screen, there is bound to be excitement amongst the audience," said Tusshar.

Tusshar, who featured in last year's big hit Golmaal Returns, wasn't inclined to reach out to the makers and get his role increased in Life Partner.

"Honestly speaking, I didn't have any such inclinations. The roles required to have the kind of length that they have due to the way they were written. Anyone's role being increased or chopped would have compromised the characters.

"The film shows conflicting point of views of three guys and to show the right contrast amongst them, you can't play around with their screen time. It is very important to see that each marriage in the film is important. One has to enjoy all the characters otherwise the whole fun of watching the film would be lost."

Even though the film is currently carrying good vibes and is releasing over the Independence Day weekend, Tusshar is cautious before jumping the gun and calling Life Partner a sure shot success way in advance.

"See, there is nothing like success formula. Till a few months back everyone said that since the comic genre is succeeding, let's make a comedy and we would have a hit in hands. Then we saw so many comedies also failing left, right and centre. You can't be sure about anything. One can mainly concentrate on making a good film, promote it well, get a branding in place and leave it for the audiences to decide. Saying anything else in advance would be making an announcement too soon."

Govinda accuses struggling writer of giving his Family a cold

There have been many bizarre Govinda stories seeing imaginary people, slapping innocent bystanders at shootings, refusing to mouth dialogues because "they will bring me bad luck" and claiming that the underworld is out to get him. But this one is, by far, the strangest.

Not very long ago, a struggling writer was trying to get an audience with Govinda to give him a narration of his film titled Baarish. The writer, a guy from a less-than-modest background chased the actor for months. He used whatever connections he had to get few precious minutes with Chi Chi. And he finally got to see the actor.

Too good to be true

Reveals our source, "The writer was thrilled. He gave Chi Chi a narration and told him that he wanted him to play the lead role. At the end of the meeting, Govinda hugged him and said that he'd loved the story and promised him that he would do the film." He told the excited guy, 'I will not only act in your film, I will produce it too.' The writer went back to his chawl room and told all his friends and family how Govinda had agreed to be a part of his film and how he'd even finance his directorial debut. But his happiness was short-lived.

Maine kya kiya?

The writer had a tough time sleeping that night. Late that night, when his phone began ringing and he saw the name Govinda flashing, he picked it up on the second ring. He answered the phone and heard Govinda sound very upset.

Then came a barrage of maa-behen gaalis from the actor. The poor guy didn't know what he had done to upset the actor but he soon found out. Govinda told him, "Aaj ke baad mere saamne mat aana. I will kill you. You came and narrated the script of Baarish to me, and now my children have got a bad cold, and they are suffering. It is all your fault."

The source further adds, "Chi Chi then told the boy that he wouldn't do his film and he'd make sure he wouldn't be able to make that film with anyone else either. He tried to reason with Chi Chi but the actor just abused him some more and then hung up." The writer still has to recover from the experience.

Hardly had anyone forgotten the instance when Govinda slapped an onlooker (initially thought to be a journalist) on the sets of Money Hai Toh Honey Hai that the actor again got caught into another ‘slap controversy’. Govinda slapped director Neeraj Vohra on the sets of Run Bhola Run.

The reason: A scene required actor Aryan Vaid to push and slap Govinda. Unintentionally, Aryan hit him too hard. Govinda immediately reacted on this scene and accused Vohra of using the scene only to humiliate him on the sets. The heated argument took a bad turn and Govinda slapped the director in the presence of all.
