The Ex- Miss Universe Sushmita Sen had nearly withdrawn herself from the ‘Miss India Contest’ after she heard that Aishwarya Rai was also participating in it. However, after lots of convincing Sushmita Sen finally agreed to appear in the contest.

However, amazingly, Sushmita won the the title of ‘Femina Miss India’ beating Aishwarya Rai and Diya Mirza, who were the runner up the second runner up. Held in Manila, Philippines in 1994, Sushmita represented India at the age of eighteen and became the first Indian woman to become Miss Universe.

Aishwarya and Diya too, set the whole world praise for Indian beauty as they too won the title of Miss World and Miss Asia Pacific respectively. That was the first and only time in our history that Indian girls bagged all the three awards to themselves in that year.

This incident could be straight out of a Mills & Boon romance where Prince Charming comes to the rescue of a damsel in distress and carries her in his arms… only this time the ‘Prince Charming’ is Dulha Mil Gaya director Muddasar Aziz and the ‘damsel in distress’ is his love interest Sushmita Sen, as this photo clearly shows. Not known to do things halfway, Sushmita made clear that, like all women, she too is delighted when her man spoils her silly. Take for instance this incident, which happened on the sets of Dulha Mil Gaya.

A source said, “A sequence was being picturised on a beach in Trinidad, West Indies where a set was erected in the sea, just a few feet away from the shore. Sushmita was quite reluctant about wading in the seawater to reach the sets as she didn’t want her legs and costume to get wet. Immediately, her boyfriend Muddasar Aziz, who is the film’s director, lifted Sushmita on his shoulders to keep her warm and dry and took her safely to the sets ensuring that she did not get wet at all. Even though the scene was okayed after about 12 retakes, Muddasar would wade through the water every time to carry Sushmita on his shoulders to take her back to her vanity van during breaks.

Sushmita was thrilled on being given this super special treatment and her delight was quite evident.” While Muddasar Aziz remained unavailable for comment, producer Viveck Vaswani declined to comment. But, like it is said, a picture is worth a thousand words.

She had no release in 2008 and this year both her movies – Karma, Confessions and Holi and Do Knot Disturb – turned out to be duds. But former beauty queen-turned-actress Sushmita Sen claims she is a very busy person.I am basically a very busy person. I am just the sort of person who is constantly delving into different things and wetting my palms to see what all interests me and I have been mostly outside the country shooting for my films,Sushmita said.

I have also been keeping busy with the dubs and promotions of my films. I have also been working around my other companies so that I could have a very fulfilling year,” she added.Her future film projects include Dulha Mil Gaya and No Problem.
