Katrina Kaif and John Abraham Take The Gold for Most Eligible Singles

Well, well, well, it looks like little miss Katrina Kaif has just been voted as the most eligible single female, beating out the likes of Bipasha Basu , Deepika Padukone , Kareena Kapoor , Priyanka Chopra and Sonam Kapoor. Shaadi.com, a matrimonial website, reported that Kaif received 18,000 votes, 48 percent of them being males of course, in their online pole.

“It's nice to see the way our members' preferences for an ideal partner have changed drastically. It’s not just about looks and fashion trends but about power and higher social standing that makes a person more attractive and appealing,” Gourav Rakshit, business head of shaadi.com, is quoted to have said.

Interestingly enough, Kaif’s ‘New York’ co-star, John Abraham, won most eligible single male according to the same poll. John earned more votes than Salman Khan , Saif Ali Khan , Ranbir Kapoor , Rahul Gandhi, M.S. Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh.

Perhaps their recent crowning is due to the major success and popularity of their latest fim, ‘New York.’ For whatever the reason, they are undeniably deserving of their titles.

The duo are currently singing in the rain at a Mumbai studio for Priyadarshan’s De Dana Dan. Akshay, dressed in a thin kurta, and Katrina wrapped in a sexy chiffon sari with a strappy blouse.

But the body heat generated from their steamy togetherness was not enough to keep the actress warm. And Katrina sat in a chair after the first shot, shivering, her teeth chattering, the drenched sari doing nothing to help.

Retakes in the rain followed, one too many, and that’s when Akshay sprang into action. He first ran around the set making sure the air-conditioners were switched off. And then requested Priyan and choreographer Pony Varma to “please look out for Katrina’’ because from past experience, he knew if she stayed wet for too long, she would be down with a fever the next day.
The chivalrous actor then ordered two huge Turkish bath towels, wrapped his heroine in one, himself in the other. “God, he treats me like a baby,’’ muttered Katrina. Something she knew before, but now we know too.

Katrina turns Producer to remake French film

Katrina Kaif is all set to wear the producer’s hat, as the actress has decided to remake a French film in Bollywood.

According to reports, Katrina saw a French flick recently and fell in love with it instantly, so much so that she has decided to finance it herself and has also bought the remake rights of the same.

Though Katrina is refusing to divulge the name of the film, what’s known is that she will be playing the central character in it. “It’s a huge hit of 2006. I don’t want to name it because then it will immediately be picked up by others and they’ll get down to making their own versions of the film before I have even finalised the deal. I’m very serious about the film and my negotiations are on. And if all goes well, I’ll have the rights with me very soon,” says an eager Katrina.

It is believed that Kat will be portraying a very different character in her production. “My role in the film has dark shades to it. I play a conniving, ambitious woman. It’s a gloriously grey character, the kind I haven’t played before,” adds Katrina.

When asked about what made her turn producer for the flick, Katrina says, “It is very important for me to find vehicles that will challenge me as an actor. And I am willing to create opportunities for myself.”

Akshay is really Good with Priyanka, says Katrina

After burning the silver screen with their sizzling chemistry and hitting headlines for their growing closeness which set the rumour mills rolling, news has it that Akshay Kumar is looking forward to work with Priyanka Chopra once again.

Speaking about Akshay’s onscreen chemistry with Priyanka, Katrina said, “Akshay and I vibe superbly on screen. But he’s really good with Priyanka and I’m looking forward to seeing them again.”

Buzz has it that that Akshay ended his pairing with Priyanka when his wife Twinkle became wary of their endless relationship rumours.

When enquired whether the original Khiladi of Bollywood is open to work with hot Priyanka, Akshay said, “Why not. Priyanka and I did some really successful films like ‘Andaaz’ and ‘Aitraaz’. I’d love to work with her again. Those of our fans who missed our pairing may soon get a pleasant surprise.”

According to latest B-town news, two major producers are contemplating to cast Priyanka and Akshay in their upcoming venture.

According to a close source, Priyanka too is optimistic to act opposite Akshay. “Though she loves working with Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan, she misses the magic she created with Akshay,” said the source.

Not that Bollywood damsel Katrina Kaif had ever been so kind to those interacting with her, but she wasn’t someone with airs either. But now with several hits in her kitty, the actress is changing colours.

According to reports, Kat has apparently started using her star power. The actress, who was recently signed up by a luxury designer brand and paid a throbbing amount too, has set special demands and conditions for the shoot of the ad campaign. A source says that she has to be flown to Paris for the shoot but Kat isn’t happy with just that. She has said that she would shoot only in a certain hotel where she wants to stay as well. Kat also wants to work with her own stylist, make-up artist and insists that they should be flown to Paris with her. The company officials could not gulp the conditions down their throats and when they protested, Kat threw a tantrum till they relented.

They say you need to act like a star to feel like one. And Katrina must be feeling every bit of a star.

Katrina is surely giving a tough time to the brand managers, but don’t we get a hint of Salman in her actions here? Well, certainly! Guess it’s time that she starts thinking with her own gifted brain as she can’t afford to follow Salman even subconsciously.

Jealous Salman Khan Avoids Katrina Kaif

Ironically while Salman has never seen any of Katrina’s films, Katrina makes it a point to see all his movies. The friend says, “She does not miss any of Salman’s films, whether its a premiere or just a regular screening, Katrina is always there to support anything that Salman does”. But there is no vice versa here.

Yes, believe it or not, Salman has not watched New York as yet. Katrina hasn’t been able to convince him to do so. He won’t watch it now, he won’t watch later. Period.

Says a close friend of Katrina, “It really really puzzles and hurts her as to why Salman chooses to ignore all her films. It isn’t as if he doesn’t watch any films. He does. But when it comes to Katrina he suffers from a mental blockade.”

Apparently Salman doesn’t like the thought of watching his girlfriend share physical proximity with any of his co-stars. In fact, according to close friends even when she wears the slightest of revealing clothes in his presence Salman asks her to change.

Katrina Kaif went into a state of shock recently while shooting for her forthcoming film New York. Stories about the brutality many innocents had to undergo post the 9/11 attacks on America shook up Katrina. Many innocents were detained by the police for questioning for their suspected role in the suicide attacks.he actor was even more saddened when she visited the high security prison for the condemned at Guantanamo Bay for shooting. This visit left Katrina depressed as she learnt how the prisoners lived there as 9/11 detainees.

Katrina says, "We are not making a documentary on 9/11 and so this film is highly entertaining yet very realistic. We shot in actual locations associated with the 9/11 attacks and Guantanamo was one of them. I was there for just a day to shoot my portions. It was shocking to see the high-profile prison where people who were sentenced for their lives were also living."

She adds: "However, I did not meet any person arrested and jailed in connection with the terror attacks. But I have heard stories about them when I was shooting there. Some most wanted criminals have stayed there."

A source close to the film tipped us off that Katrina was quite overwhelmed after her visit. "It's pleasant to shoot at some of the most exotic locations in the world. But when you have to shoot in a dark prison with real criminals confined to life imprisonment or death row, then it's a different thing altogether. For Katrina it was an experience that she will never forget," the source says.

The source adds, "Katrina was amazed that we were making a movie for entertainment but here were prisoners leading a life of confinement completely devoid of entertainment. Kabir (Khan) narrated an actual incident about 9/11 and the prisoners who were detained in Guantanamo bay. That shocked Katrina. She felt that how we live in a very cushioned world, when in reality there is an awful amount of brutality."

I won't mediate Between Kat and Bips: John

It's a well-known fact in the film industry that Katrina Kaif and Bipasha Basu can't see eye to eye. Almost similar is the case with John Abraham and Salman Khan. But the film New York has done something unusual in these Bollywood relationships.

This film has brought Katrina Kaif and John Abraham so close to each other that the grapevine has been abuzz with rumours of an affair between them. Both are all praise for each other, and say that they had a gala time while shooting together for the Yash Raj film directed by Kabir Khan.

As expected, there was no love lost between John's New York co-star and his long-standing girlfriend Bipasha Basu.

So will John play the peacemaker between his two leading ladies?

We asked John during an interview and this is what Dostana's hot dude had to say, "I am not here to play the role of a mediator. Bipasha is a grown up, mature woman. So is Katrina Kaif. They are both experienced enough to sort out their own issues. I was there to play the character assigned to me in the film and not to act as a mediator between Katrina and Bipasha."

On being asked if Katrina was initially apprehensive interacting with him, he said, "She felt bit awkward in the beginning but later we got along very well. We had a blast while shooting for the film."

Interestingly, even Katrina doesn't seem keen to bring John and Salman any closer. The leggy lass echoed the same concerns as that of John. Katrina said, "I don't think anyone needs to play the role of a pacifier for anyone. We are all adults. If we feel the need to sort out our problems, we will do it on our own."

Talking about her experience of working with John and Neil, the actress said, "We all got along pretty well with each other. Everyone had his or her own space and we were comfortable in that. I compliment the director of the film, Kabir Khan, for such a congenial atmosphere."
