Late-latif Ash learns to be Punctual

Being a star is no excuse in sir Vipul Shah's class. Recently, Aishwarya Rai learnt a lesson or two from the director of Action Replay, when she constantly turned up late on the sets of the movie.

According to sources, Aishwarya 'religiously' turned up late on the sets of Action Replay, delaying the entire schedule. She would spend most of her time doing up her hair, make-up and clothes while everybody kept waiting for her.

According to a source, “That day, Aishwarya came to the sets, changed into her costume, did her make-up and hair and was ready to shoot. After the entire process, which took her several hours, Vipul shot precisely for a minute before declaring pack-up. Aishwarya was aghast that Vipul had made her get ready only to shoot for a minute. She openly expressed her displeasure, to which Vipul shot back, ‘Apne sets pe sab time par aate hain aur sab time par jaate hain.’ This was a clear indication of how irritated Vipul was.”

Well Ash, as they say, learning is a life long process. Better be on time, the next time!

Deepika Snatches away Hrithik from Piggy Chops?

Deepika Padukone is likely to replace Priyanka Chopra in the sequel of Krrish, if reports are to be believed. For the first time, Hrithik and Deepika jodi would be seen on screen.

Rakesh Roashan`s production house FilmKraft is currently working on the film but it is still at an infant stage.

The source maintained, "The layout of the script is ready and it will see Hrithik in a superhero avatar once again. He will be seen saving the Seven Wonders of the World, so naturally the film will be shot extensively at various foreign locations. Hrithik will undergo physical training once again for the role. Like the prequel, this too will have SFX and a big crew of foreign technicians."

Ritesh-Genelia Spotted together

Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza can continue shouting from rooftops that they are not seeing each other but fact is that the two have been romantically involved for many years now. This picture of them hanging out together at a Mahim restaurant was taken on Saturday night, where the two were celebrating the success of Ritesh’s father Vilasrao Deshmukh being appointed as the Central Minister of Heavy Industries.

According to an onlooker, initially Ritesh, Genelia and their friends walked into the restaurant Goa Portuguesa but they promptly decided to not dine there as it was brightly lit. After that, they walked into Culture Curry, which was dimly lit.

The onlooker, who was present at the restaurant when the two walked in together, said, “Ritesh and Genelia came in with a couple of friends at 9.30pm to Culture Curry and were in a relaxed mood. Both of them were in the mood to celebrate the fact that Ritesh’s father was respectfully reinstated as one of the ministers. Ritesh and Genelia were wary of being photographed as they do not make public appearances together as they have kept their relationship under wraps.”

“I somehow managed to click their picture when they were seated inside the restaurant. They had ordered for traditional south Indian food. They were together for over two hours and were comfortable with several fans who occasionally approached them for autographs. While they readily gave autographs, they refused to be photographed together,” said the onlooker.

“We wonder why they are hiding their relationship when they look so good together and seem so completely in love?” added the source.

Priyanka’s weird idea of Having fun

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra, who is shooting for her upcoming film "Pyaar Impossible" in Bangkok, went overboard with her adventurous streak when she decided to dive into a swimming pool from a four-storey film board just to have fun.

"Priyanka jumped from a four-storey flip board into a 40 feet swimming pool while she was shooting in Bangkok for 'Pyaar Impossible'. It wasn't a part of the movie shoot but just for fun," said a source from the sets of the Yash Raj Films' project.

Actor Uday Chopra, who is cast opposite Priyanka in the movie, followed suit but ended up hurting himself.

"Uday also jumped from the same height and injured his hand. It was a fun thing - just a side activity that they were doing," the source added.

"Pyaar Impossible" is a romantic comedy story of a nerdy, awkward, socially challenged and bespectacled geek and a beautiful girl. The movie is Jugal Hansraj's second directorial after "Roadside Romeo".

The movie went on floors in April and is due to release towards the end of the year.

Salman wins reality TV Show 'Dance India Dance'

After eighteen weeks of grueling hard work, Salman Khan, a 23-year-old from Bangalore, was announced the winner of Zee TV's dance reality show "Dance India Dance" at the grand finale that concluded here on Saturday night. Khan beat Mumbai-based Siddesh Pai and Alisha Singh from Ranchi to walk away with the winner's cap as well as a contract worth Rs.5 million with Zee TV. "I thank god, my mother and the audience for giving me so much love," Khan said after being announced the winner. The event, held at the sprawling Andheri Sports Complex, was a dazzling evening with livewire performances by the participants, judges as well as the host, TV actor Jay Bhanushali. "Dance India Dance" had set out to look for raw talent within the age group of 15-25 who would be trained by professional Bollywood choreographers - Geeta Kapoor, Terrence Lewis and Remo D'Souza as well as be judged by them. Bollywood actor and 'disco king' Mithun Chakraborty presided as the grandmaster throughout the reality show. Apart from the participants, judges and the audience, the grand finale also saw filmmaker Boney Kapoor and actor-turned-director Prabhu Deva take centrestage as special guests.

Heather Graham finds Stripping 'inspiring'

Actor Heather Graham finds stripping 'inspiring', and wants women to do the sexy act so that they feel good about themselves. The stunner, who plays an exotic dancer in new comedy The Hangover, has confessed that her pole dancing preparation was easy because she's had lessons before.

Graham hooked up with actor and stripper teacher Sheila Kelley for pole dancing classes, reports The Daily Express.

She reveals, "I had taken this female empowerment class and Sheila Kelley came in and talked about her classes. I had actually taken her classes because my friend taught one of them. She worked at the Mayor's office and quit her job to become a pole-dancing instructor. For this film I went back and took some refresher courses. It's a dance class but they teach you pole dancing moves and it reminded me how great it is. It's for any kind of woman, women of all different ages and sizes.

"As a woman, it's inspiring because any woman can feel sexy and you're cheering each other on. You're not doing it for like, 'Oh, just give me a tip'. Usually people wear shorts and a tank top or a bra and you just cheer each other on. You're doing it to feel good about yourself and see other women feel good about themselves."

Katrina goes dress less

Katrina Kaif has decided not to apply any make-up during shoots from now on -- or if needed, the very bare essentials only. Sources close to Katrina reveal that lately the star has become very concerned with the damage on her skin due to heavy make-up and constant exposure to stark arc lights. Katrina has henceforth decided to shun heavy make-up altogether.

We confronted the star with this information and Katrina admitted that she has decided to throw away her make-up kit. "This is true that I have decided to go for no make-up. Anybody who has to don heavy make-up and is constantly exposed to the arc lights would be able to give you an answer as to why I have done that. It affects your skin badly. I also think that beyond a point it's unnatural to don heavy make-up all the time," Kat says.

The actor, her aides say, hated it when she had to sit for hours with heavy make-up in-between shots. There was a point when Kats started hating putting make-up on her face.

"I don't enjoy sitting with make-up all the time and that is why I have decided to go for the natural look. Not only me, I think given a choice, everybody would prefer such a look on screen," she confirms.

Uttaran kids to leave the Show

Child actors of popular television shows may have caught the fancy of many a viewer, but one may not get to see the cute kids of Uttaran or the naughty little boy playing Lord Krishna any more as they are now set to grow up on screen.

Two prime-time hits will take a generational leap in the coming weeks. This will see the exit of child actors Sparsh Khanchandani and Ishita Panchal, who play Ichcha and Tapasya in Uttaran, and Krishna Bhatia, who essays the role of the little Krishna in Jai Shri Krishna.

It might come as a disappointment to regular viewers, but the representatives say there is a good reason behind the move.

"There are too many 'me-too' imitations of what you call the juvenile formula. We feel confident enough now to let our two popular serials take a generation leap without affecting their popularity," said Rajesh Kamat, CEO of the television channel.

However, the kids in Balika Vadhu remain unchanged, although the actors Avika Gor and Avinash Mukherjee, playing the child-couple Anandi and Jagdish, are growing up right in front of viewers' eyes.

There was talk of the two Balika Vadhu kids departing from the plot when in recent months the focus of the serial shifted to the adult actors. But now the little twosome will be back at the plot's fulcrum.

Said Kamat: "The reason why less of Anandi and Jadgish was being shown in recent episodes is because both the actors playing the two characters were busy with their exams. It'd have been very ironical if after addressing child literacy so forcefully in the serial, our own lead players didn't get time off for their studies. Exams over, Avika and Avinash will be back full force."

Parminder Nagra becomes a Mother

Actress Parminder Nagra, who is married to photographer James Stenson, gave birth to son Kai David Singh Stenson.

The 33-year-old-actress, who first rose to fame with her role in the film "Bend It Like Beckham", gave birth to her son May 19. Nagra and Stenson announced the pregnancy in December and were married the following month after being together for seven years, reports people.com.

The actress also played Neela Rasgota on NBC's Emmy-Award winning medical drama "ER".

Angelina Jolie suffers Head injury

Hollywood superstar Angelina Jolie suffered a head injury here while shooting a stunt for her new movie Salt.

Jolie, who is playing a Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officer in the spy thriller, was taken to a hospital as she was bleeding, according to reports.

A spokesman for Sony Pictures, the producers of the film, said it was "a minor injury" and Jolie was taken to the hospital "as a precautionary measure". The actress' manager said that the mother of six, married to actor Brad Pitt, was "fine".

Bollywood star snubs Australia over Attacks

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan said on Saturday he believed he should turn down an honorary degree from a Brisbane university in protest against a wave of attacks on Indian students in Australia.

"My conscience does not permit me to accept this decoration from a country that perpetrates such indignity to my fellow countrymen," Bachchan's latest blog post said.

But the Indian movie icon said he would ask for feedback from fans on whether he should turn down the degree.

"I shall put this up as my poll question and shall feel obliged if (my) extended family (of fans) can indicate to me their opinion for me to be able to take the correct action," he wrote.

A series of attacks on Indian students has unleashed a furious reaction in India.

The media has branded them "curry bashing" and photos of the latest attack victim Sravan Kumar Theerthala, lying in his hospital bed in a coma, were plastered across newspaper front pages on Saturday.

Theerthala was left fighting for his life after being stabbed last weekend with a screwdriver by gatecrashers at a party in Melbourne. A 17-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder.

The 66-year-old Indian star had previously said he would accept an honorary doctorate from Brisbane's Queensland University of Technology for his contribution to the world of entertainment and was due to accept it in July.

The baritone-voiced superstar expressed "great dismay and shock" at the attacks and said he meant "no disrespect to the institution that honours me" in wanting to refuse the degree.

Bachchan, known as "The Big B," has a huge following in movie-mad India and can be seen on any of its television channels night or day, gyrating to one of the song-and-dance routines that have made him famous.

India said on Saturday it was "closely monitoring" the situation as Australia sought to reassure students that they were safe in the country.

Director Karan Johar's birthday bash turned out to be an occasion for a grand reunion between Bollywood stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor. The two giggled and danced together, ending the long-standing cold war between the Bachchan and the Kapoor families.

The birthday party on Monday evening saw Aishwarya and Kareena laughing, giggling, whispering and behaving like two long-lost friends, adding that extra zing to Karan's glamour-gorged bash.

The women also took to the dance floor together and ended the cold war between the two families that started when Aishwarya's hubby Abhishek Bachchan broke his relationship with Kareena's sister Karisma.

The break-up between Abhishek and Karisma also severed relationship between the Bachchan and Kapoor families. But the two families began to resolve their differences after the recent efforts of Aishwarya and Karan Johar.

During the release of Abhishek's Drona last year, director Goldie Behl also invited Kareena and her sister to the premiere for a patch up. But perhaps the wounds hadn't healed completely. Karan's party on Monday did the trick.

Kareena said recently she loved the way Aishwarya conducted her career after marriage and would love to conduct her career the same way.

Now after the dance of rapprochement it's only a matter of time before Abhishek and Kareena come together again for a film after Refugee and Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon. And chances are Karan Johar would design the project.

Chitra Singh's Daughter commits suicide

Famous Ghazal singer Chitra Singh's daughter allegedly committed suicide at her residence in suburban Bandra, police said today.

"Monica Chowdhary, daughter of Chitra Singh, committed suicide by hanging herself on Thursday night at her residence in Perry Cross Road in suburban Bandra," said Deputy Commissioner of Police Niket Kaushik.

Chowdhary's body was found by her son this morning, Kaushik said adding that the body has been sent for medical examinations to the Bhabha hospital.

My hubby keeps complaining
The actress who tied the knot with actor Parvin Dabas a year back can't stop herself from singing hosannas for her hubby dearest. "Parvin is like the proverbial knight in shining armour who has a solution to every problem of mine. Whether it's my personal life or my career, he has been my greatest support system," she says with a grin. Ask whether her Prince Charming has changed from the lover boy to a typical hubby material after marriage and she breaks into a giggle, "Nothing has changed after marriage and probably this is the best part. But, nowadays he keeps on complaining that I am not giving much time to him. When we are together and in a holidaying mode, we travel a lot, catch up with our friends and make the most of our free time."

No issues with skin show
When it comes to doing glamorous roles, marriage has not curtailed her liberal attitude a wee bit. Post marriage too, the actress has no qualms in revealing that extra inch, but she adds, "I will do it only if the role demands. I don't want to go for skin show just for the heck of it or to boost my career graph." With a pause, she adds, "I may have taken some wrong decisions in my acting career, but now I will do films, which give me creative satisfaction."

Eat right and work out
Ask Preeti about the way she has maintained her perfect 10 figure and she laughs, "Fitness is a disease now and I think everyone is into it. My fitness mantra is eating right and working out right. We have a notion that only obese people need to work out to shed those extra kilos, but slim ones have to work out more to maintain that hourglass figure."

The actress, who has visited the city twice, says, "I had heard about Nagpur's sizzling heat, which is said to be unbearable. But, this time I witnessed it firsthand! I felt so hot after my dance rehearsals that I had to take a shower for an hour!”

Sania Mirza decides to marry childhood Friend Sohrab Mirza.

India’s most popular tennis ace Sania Mirza has finally chosen her prince charming, according to her family. The lucky guy is not some high-flying tennis star or celebrity, instead, he is a childhood sweetheart, Hyderabad's Sohrab Mirza.

The 22-year-old, who is the most successful woman tennis player of the country, will continue playing the game and her father Imran Mirza said it will take a while before the two families decide on when the wedding would take place.

"This is to confirm that Sania Mirza is engaged to Mr. Muhammad Sohrab Mirza, whose family hails from the city of Hyderabad. Although not related, the two families have had friendly ties for several decades. However, the wedding is not expected to take place for a while," Imran Mirza said.

"I would like to state that the news appearing in certain sections of the media about the two maternal grandmothers having fixed the liaison is baseless. It has also been wrongly projected that Sania is contemplating early retirement from tennis. These reports are absolutely untrue," he said.

The families of Sania and Sohrab have been friends for years. They discussed the proposal some time back and agreed, a source said.

Sobrab is the son of Adil Mirza and Noora Begum, owners of the Universal Bakers chain in the city, which is quite popular in the elite circles of the city.

Sohrab, 23, is a year older than Sania. After a B Com from St Mary's College, he took admission in a British university for an MBA. He is expected to fly to UK soon.

Adil's father, Samad Shakebai, better known as Samad Seth, is an Iranian businessman.

Early in his career in Hyderabad, he was a caterer to Prince Azam Jah, the eldest son of the last Nizam. He married into Hyderabadi nobility - Shaheda Begum. While Seth set up restaurants, Begum was involved in social work, essentially girls' education. They have three sons - Kamran, Nariman and Adil, and a daughter. The family is now into real estate business.

"The marriage date has not been fixed. Sania wishes to continue playing for some more time while the boy is still studying. It might take some time before the families agree on a date," the source said.

Sudesh Berry Gets kicked by a buffalo

Actor Sudesh Berry recently faced the wrath of a buffalo on the sets of Zee TV's Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo. However, he thanks his lucky stars that he escaped with only a minor injury. Sudesh was shooting for a scene that required him to milk a buffalo.

He says, "I was under the buffalo, close to the rear legs, when she kicked me on my shoulder and somehow, my face was saved from an injury."

Though Sudesh thought he had fractured a bone, doctors said he was fine. Now, there's nothing left of this incident apart from a wound on his shoulder.

None expected the buffalo to get violent. Shooting would have been stalled for the day, had Sudesh not put his foot down and insisted that a doctor be called on the sets instead of him visiting the hospital.

Priyanka developed cold feet over a steamy Love scene

Priyanka Chopra seems to very excited about the release of Vishal Bharadwaj’s Kaminey as it is her first release with good friend Shahid Kapoor. But reportedly, she is having some issues with it as well.

Sex, lies, videotape scandal Grips Philippines

The Philippines is in danger of slipping into recession, it has just recorded its first few cases of the new flu virus, but you wouldn't know it from reading the Manila newspapers or watching local television.

A scandal surrounding a celebrity doctor, known for providing cosmetic surgery to film stars and models, and his steamy affair with an upcoming actress has been all the rage, especially since a sex video of the two together surfaced on the Internet and on knock-off DVDs.

On Thursday, just hours after the government announced that an economic recession was looming, the two protagonists were summoned by the Senate and questioned in a public hearing, all covered live by television and radio.

"Everytime we saw each other, there was no conversation. It was all drugs and sex," said the 29-year-old doctor, Hayden Kho, adding the actress, Katrina Halili, influenced him to start experimenting with Ecstasy pills.

He admitted he had video-taped their affair, but said he did not know how it ended up on the Net.

Proceedings in the house were disrupted when an onlooker emptied a bottle of water over Kho's head. He was arrested and Kho continued his testimony after patting himself dry with a handkerchief.

Halili, 23, who sobbed repeatedly during the hearing, denied offering drugs to Kho, maintaining they had a doctor-patient relationship before getting intimate.

"I loved Hayden," she said wiping away tears. "I was young, so I was easily blinded. I am the victim here while our video is being viewed on a daily basis. I was abused on the video and I am still being abused in public."

Newspapers have been giving lurid details of the story on front pages for weeks, complete with bare-chested photographs of Kho. He was already a staple on the celebrity circuit because of his live-in relationship with Vicky Belo, the best known cosmetic surgeon in the Philippines.

Belo, said to be in her 50s, had a public break-up with Kho after reports of his affair with the actress surfaced earlier this year, but according to some reports they have reunited.

The congressional inquiry was called amid efforts by the legislature to strengthen laws against pornography and exploitation of women and children.

Katrina, John getting Closer

Now that it's confirmed that Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan have officially called off their four-year-old relationship, the pretty actress has nobody to answer to.

According to reports, earlier Katrina was very choosy about picking up roles or befriending any of her male co-stars if her boyfriend Salman had an objection to them.

Ash patches up with Bebo and SRK at Karan's Party!

Karan Johar, who recently turned 37, invited the who's who of Bollywood to his birthday party. Amongst the invitees were Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor who have reportedly been cold to each other for years. Though neither has ever said anything to confirm this, it has been apparent that the two aren't quite the best of friends. On Koffee With Karan, Kareena admitted that she thinks she could have done a better job of Ash's role in Dhoom 2.

It may also be recalled that Kareena and Abhishek stopped talking (despite debuting together in Refugee) after Abhishek and Bebo's sister Karisma called off their engagement.

An article in Mid-Day suggests that Bebo and Ash have finally buried the hatched and got along like a house on fire at Karan's party. Not only were they laughing together, but eventually joined each other on the dance floor!

Similarly, Karan's good friend SRK is said to have apologised to Aishwarya after feeling that he "wronged" her. Recall that Aishwarya was dropped from SRK's home production Chalte Chalte after her then-boyfriend Salman Khan barged on to the sets. The duo hasn't worked together in years, despite creating magic in Devdas. Reportedly, Ash refused Preity's role in Veer-Zaara because her and SRK were not on good terms. According to Mid-Day, Abhishek, Aishwarya, SRK and wife Gauri were seen laughing together all night. In fact, Abhi and Ash were even invited back to SRK's house Mannat to party with Hrithik-Sussanne, Kareena-Saif and Arjun and his wife Mehr.

Also, despite rumours surrounding their appearances at Cannes, Aishwayra reportedly had a brief chat with Sonam Kapoor and the two did not seem to have any bad blood between them.

Bollywood strike shuts B.C. movie Theatre

The Bollywood strike is having repercussions in B.C.'s Lower Mainland.

The Raja, the only Indian movie cinema in the area, has temporarily shut its doors until next month.

Theatre chains in New York, the U.S. and Europe have joined movie houses in India that have closed because of the strike.

A dispute between Bollywood producers and India's cinema chains has meant no new films are being issued.

Zahir Rajani, who co-owns the Raja Cinema on Kingsway in Vancouver, says film producers started withholding new movies from theatres in March.

"It trickled down to basically everybody. So we had had a period where there was, you know, on average … the small movie coming out every couple of weeks and then now it's just come to a complete standstill," he told CBC News.

There is a change happening in the way Bollywood movies, famous for their lavish song and dance numbers, are being financed.

Bollywood producers used to get their money from private backers, often family companies, but that money has dried up.

They'd like to move to a system more like Hollywood, where cinema box office provides them with revenue.

But India's cinema chains don't like that idea. The producers stopped putting out new movies seven weeks ago to pressure the chains to talk about sharing box office 50/50.

They say the multiplexes, which serve affluent and middle-class Indians, can afford that much. But the chains are offering less and the two sides are at a stalemate.

Rajani said his theatre has lost thousands of dollars in revenue.

"It's a cultural thing as well — to get out you know — watch movies with your friends, family. It's an outing. It's been … I'd say it's been upsetting."

He is hoping to reopen his doors in June.

Dhoni Continues as Top ODI Batsman

Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni continued to hold top spot in the ranking for ODI batsmen even as Gautam Gambhir gained one place to be at 16th spot in the list released by the ICC today Yuvraj Singh (4), Virender Sehwag (7) and Sachin Tendulkar’s (13) rankings remained unchanged.

Shah Rukh, Abhishek Set to face off in Dhoom 3

Bollywood Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan is all set to play the role of a baddie and will give Abhishek Bachchan a run for his money in Dhoom 3, if Yash Raj Films gets its own way.

Aditya Chopra of Bollywood production house Yash Raj Films, which churned out the hugely successful Dhoom and Dhoom 2, has reportedly approached King Khan to play the role of a villain in Dhoom 3 opposite Abhishek Bachchan.

In Dhoom and Dhoom 2, the role of the villain was essayed with such finesse by John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan that they overshadowed Abhishek, who played the hero's role (super cop Asst. Commissioner of Police Jai Dixit) in both the installments.

According to the grapevine, Shah Rukh has read the basic script of Dhoom 3 and loved the character of the villain. However, it remains to be seen whether SRK will actually sign on the dotted lines, as his cold relation with the Bachchan khandan is yet to thaw and he already has a packed schedule with at least three movies lined up for the year 2010 - one is Don 2 by Farhan Akhtar, another is his home production, a sci-fi superhero flick, and the third is Farah Khan's Happy New Year.

"Shah Rukh has hardly said no to Yash Raj banner in the past as the two go back a long way...since the times of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil To Pagal Hai, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Mohabbatein and Veer Zaara. In recent times, Shah Rukh has also delivered hits like Chak De! India and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi for Yash Raj. If the Baadshah says yes to Yash Raj again, it is certain that Dhoom 3 will be a bigger hit than its predecessors," a source close to the development said.

"Due to the recession and the ongoing producers' strike, Yash Raj is having a difficult time lately. Some of the movies under its banner, such as Ta Ra Rum Pum, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Aaja Nachle, Tashan and Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, also did not fare well. However, Shah Rukh can turn their fortune around. He is their key to revival, their quick-fix solution and they know that," the source said.

Earlier, Bollywood was abuzz with the news that Saif Ali Khan has signed the dotted line for the same role. However, it turned out t be just a rumor.

It is not known who will act alongside Abhishek Bachchan in Dhoom 3. But it is certain that it will not be the dusky siren Bipasha Basu as she has been dropped from Dhoom 3.

Also, it is not yet clear who will direct the film. Sanjay Gadhvi, who directed the first two films in the series, has moved out of the Yash Raj camp.

As for Shah Rukh, who is currently shooting for Karan Johar's upcoming flick My Name is Khan, if at all he plays the role of the villain in Dhoom 3, it will not be the first time. In the past, he has played the role of anti-hero to perfection in Darr, Baazigar, Anjaam and Don and playing the role of a villain again in Dhoom 3 will be a cakewalk for him.No doubt Bollywood's best-known production house is knocking at his door and will not take "no" for an answer.

Saif-Vivek Arrested...

Saif Ali Khan and Vivek Oberoi ran into trouble with some policemen while shooting for Rensil D'Silva's film Qurbaan in New York. Both the actors were almost arrested while shooting for the film.

A source said, "Vivek and Saif were shooting in a hilly region in New York. It was a scene where both the actors had to drive a car and the camera was placed quite far as it was a long shot. The actors kept driving for a long time as they were required to give various takes as the scene was being shot from

several angles. However, the locals, who had no clue that a film shoot was on, started getting suspicious when they saw the two Indians driving around aimlessly. They wasted no time in calling the cops who immediately came and started questioning Vivek and Saif.”

Vivek and Saif told the policemen they were actors from India and were shooting for a film. However, the cops refused to believe them. Much to the frustration of the two actors, the cops flatly refused to believe that a shooting was on as there were no crew member or camera nearby.

“Even though the production team saw what was happening on their monitors, and one of them immediately rushed to help, it took him a good 10 minutes before he could reach the actors. By then the cops had almost arrested them on suspicion and were all set to take them to the police station. However, the unit member rescued the actors in the nick of time. The cops only let them go after all the necessary documents were shown,” added the source.

Dressless painting of Madonna and Guy for auction

The controversial painting by artist Peter Howson was made in 2005, while the former duo divorced last year.

Anupam Kher gets a band-baaja Welcome in Bhor

It was a moment he won’t forget easily. When on Tuesday, Anupam Kher reached Bhor on the outskirts of Mumbai to resume the shooting of Walt Disney Production’s Zokkomon, 100 children along with the entire cast and crew of the film, waited to greet Anupam with a full-fledged band-baaja.

Anupam was zapped. “Before I had left Bhor, I told the unit of Zokkomon I was going to Mumbai to attend the premiere of Saaransh to celebrate 25 years in cinema. I also taunted the unit, ‘You should receive me with a full musical band, no less, when I return.’ Little did I expect them to take my words seriously. When I got back on Tuesday they had actually arranged a huge band from Pune to greet me. The minute I came to the location the band started playing.”

Anupam was moved beyond words. That’s not all. What followed made him burst into tears. “All the kids in the film made me put on a party cap, cut a cake and sang congratulatory songs. You’ve no idea how much I wept today.”

Says the actor, “When I see such love showered on me, I wonder if I’ve really done anything to deserve this.”

Imran Khan jumps off a Plane

Bollywood's celebrity action director Allan Amin made actor Imran Khan jump off a plane onto a moving train in the forthcoming movie Luck.

"In Luck, Imran would be seen jumping from an airplane onto a moving train. It was a brave scene and was shot in Bangkok," Amin said.

Imran, who won many hearts with his debut Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Ya, said it was an important scene, but refused to divulge any details about it.

"It is a major scene in the film and we will most probably use it for the promotion of the film. It will be a major part of the film's publicity campaign so I don't want to reveal much about the scene," said Imran.

The scene might bear resemblance to Anil Kapoor's famous jump in the 1993 movie Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja as well as Hrithik Roshan's anti-gravity stunt in Dhoom 2 (2006).

Apart from this particular act in Luck, the action director has also choreographed an underwater action scene set in South Africa with Imran and his leading lady Shruti Haasan - the two will be seen swimming with sharks.

Sanjay Dutt, who is also a part of the Soham Shah directed project, will be seen in a spectacular stunt in which he is supposed to run towards fast moving trains - something we saw Aamir Khan doing in Ghulam.

Amin has been in the film industry for the last 25 years and says more actors now prefer to do their own stunts instead of asking for a body double.

"A lot of actors today want to do their stunts for the excitement. Not only the younger lot, even experienced actors like Amitabh Bachchan likes to do stunts on their own. I made Amitabh do one in Aks where he had to jump through a waterfall," said Amin, who has directed stunts in actioners like Dhoom, Dus, Kaal and Main Hoon Na.

In 2005, he got the Filmfare Award for directing action sequences in Mission Kashmir, which had Sanjay Dutt and Hrithik in lead roles.

Amin is now excited about being a judge on reality show for MTV, where he has to select, train and judge 10 passionate bikers to perform stunts.

"The channel approached me for the show and after being in the industry for so long, I thought this would be something new for me and something very close to my heart - so I agreed. I will be more than happy to teach young kids how to do stunts properly without harming themselves in any way," he said.

"A lot of youngsters have a passion for bikes and related stunts, but they should first be brave and positive to be able to carry off a stunt well. And then it is my job to make the stunt spectacular and safe," Amin added.

Katrina Kaif's bonding With Salman's foe, John Abraham

When they shot for New York, Katrina Kaif and John Abraham kept their distance from each other because of her beau Salman Khan's dushmani with her co-star. But when the recently-separated-from-Sallu Kat shot with Johnny Boy for a music video a few weeks back, the pair bonded.

Sceptics might question the timing of these rumours as the film is ready for release and pass it off as nothing more than a publicity gimmick. And he is doing the same with Kat. Reveals a source close to the actor, "Salmanbhai got hold of Kat's mobile bill and saw many calls and SMSes made and received between John and her." One explanation could be that the pair is in touch as the film is ready for release but you can't argue with a jealous boyfriend (ex or otherwise).

Running scared

Salman is said to be furious at Kat's alliance with the man he considers an enemy. Katrina is now running scared. Even though she is no longer with him, she needs Sallu professionally. Although she has been telling people that she is no longer his girlfriend, she cannot afford to rub him the wrong way and expect to survive in the film industry.
